YOPS Flipper Academy: After Dark

Beginner level workshop

Are you new to pinball and want to level-up your skills and knowledge?  We're providing guided practice sessions with the glass off, so you can place the ball on the playfield and repeat the same skill over and over again.  You'll also learn the rules of pinball, how to read the machine, and see how the game works from the underside of the playfield!

This 90 minute workshop will run in the evening from 6 - 7:30pm on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th February, and costs $20.  Spaces are strictly limited, so reserve your spot now!  Open to players of all ages.  We'll cover the same content on both nights, so register for both sessions if you feel you need the extra practice.

What to bring?  Ear protection!  The glass will be off, so the clack of flippers will be LOUD!  We'll also have ear plugs available.

Pinball 101

Learn how to start a single player or multiplayer games, understand the structure of the game (3 balls, ball saves, bonuses, etc).  Understand what the display is telling you about the game, and what the flashing lights are asking you to shoot.

Under the playfield

We'll lift the playfield on a game and show you what happens when you press the flipper buttons.

Modes and storyline

What are modes and how do they affect the game?  Learn how the game's storyline progresses.

Flipper basics

We'll take the glass off the games so you can place the ball on the playfield and practice catching and aiming your shots, over and over again.

Multiball madness!

Multiballs are one of the main goals in any pinball game, but it takes skill and practice to make the most of these scoring opportunities.

Track your progress

Pinball apps like Stern Insider Connect and Scorbit enable you to track your scores and achievements on many pinball games.

Register here for the Monday or Tuesday sessions. Only 10 spaces available each night!
